For the fourth and final episode of our web series We are Experts We turn our attention to drivers, a key player in fleet management.
We illustrate this fundamental role alongside Pedro Marcelino, fleet manager at Serilon Brazil, who shared feedback on the company's Golfleet Driver implementation process and the first few weeks of use.
The conversation becomes even more interesting because we have a strong duo from our team. Gabriel Zambrim, development manager, explaining in depth the benefits of the app, and Thainá Carvalho, relationship analyst, on how implementation happens in practice.

Efficient fleet management is essential for the success of companies that depend on logistics in their operations.
Pedro Marcelino, from Serilon, realized this and decided to go further, sharing responsibility with drivers. In his words: “When I share part of the management with the driver, I bring him to my side, I give him protagonism, from there changes start to happen.”
Below, we share some of the highlights from this episode. But, if you prefer:

Currently with around 70 vehicles, the fleet is divided between light-heavy vehicles, responsible for deliveries, and commercial drivers, responsible for visiting customers.
The challenge was to implement a solution that would improve operational efficiency and safety, and Pedro highlights that 60 drivers are already using the app, thanks to the collaboration with the Golfleet team.
But implementing the app wasn't just a question of technology, it was a cultural change. Peter explains: “We noticed a certain enthusiasm, enthusiasm for bringing something new. Most said the app was easy to use and intuitive.”
As this positive receptivity is crucial to the success of any innovation, Serilon adopted a strategic approach in disseminating and implementing the Golfleet Driver.
With the collaboration of the responsible managers in each of the stores spread across the country, they centralized the necessary information and facilitated the registration of drivers.
“When you register, an email is sent to the driver and allows access and which app they should download,” he highlights.
Furthermore, Golfleet Driver is not just a technological tool, It's an opportunity for drivers to reflect on their performance.
Pedro shares an interaction with one of his drivers that caught our attention: “Look, with the app I can reflect on how I’m driving, how I can improve as a driver and even as a citizen.”
Therefore, this shift in mindset is critical to ensuring that Golfleet Driver is used not just as a data recorder, but as a tool for personal and professional improvement.
The fleet manager also emphasizes the importance of a well-defined internal safety process and an engaged team to ensure that the app brings real benefits.
“If you have good management behind this app and use this data in your management, you will certainly have less risk of accidents. It saves fuel and maintenance in general.”
Pedro concludes by expressing his gratitude for the team's collaboration and commitment during the implementation period. This partnership was fundamental to the success of the project, highlighting the importance of a step-by-step approach in implementing innovations in fleet management.
“And, without this support, this implementation would certainly not be possible and viable”, he concludes.

Feedback on the driver's handling profile
“The idea arose from the need we saw in the market for fleet managers to bring drivers in to see their driving data”, reveals Gabriel Zambrim, development manager at Golfleet.
For many, driving is not just a daily task, but an integral part of their careers. The quality and safety of driving can directly impact the driver's pocket, whether through salary deductions related to fines or other traffic incidents.
It is in this scenario that Golfleet comes into action, offering an innovative solution that aims to provide feedback to drivers.
At the heart of this transformation is Golfleet Driver, which intelligently connects fleet managers and drivers. Zambrim highlights: “The driver today is involved in fleet management, he monitors everything he does with the company vehicle.”
The interaction begins when the fleet manager sends an invitation through the platform, and drivers receive an email with instant access to the application.
Thus, from that moment on, the driver has at his disposal a comprehensive panel that displays driving time, infractions committed, and whether the activities occurred within or outside business hours.
A crucial differentiator of Golfleet Driver is the feedback available immediately after completing the trip, designed with the aim of not distracting drivers while driving. Zambrim emphasizes: “Always after he turns off the vehicle's ignition and finishes using it, he can already see that use on the app.”
This approach allows drivers to immediately analyze their driving, identifying areas for improvement and promoting safer driving.

It is no longer necessary to wait for a return call or schedule an appointment, as each time the vehicle is turned off, the driver receives a complete summary of its use.
Gabriel Zambrim highlights the positive impact of this approach for both drivers and fleet managers. “I think it makes the manager’s life much easier. He doesn’t need to send reports or hold meetings and constantly give feedback.”
This transparency also resolves a recurring complaint from drivers about salary deductions. By bringing data into the driver's view, Golfleet empowers drivers to police themselves, understanding the reasons behind discounts and encouraging continuous improvements.
Therefore, our technology not only transforms fleet management, but also redefines the relationship between drivers and managers.
By providing transparency, behavioral feedback and a driver-centric approach, the company is shaping the future of fleet management.
In Zambrim’s words, “the intention is for people to engage with the app and increasingly improve their driving, regardless of the fleet manager’s actions.”
The fleet management revolution is underway, and Golfleet is leading the way, also putting the power in the hands of drivers for a safer and more efficient future on the roads.

Successful Implementation of Golfleet Driver
“The entire implementation of the app and its usability, both for drivers and managers, is a critical part of our work. We want to ensure that it is a smooth transition, allowing managers to adapt easily”, highlights Thainá Carvalho.
Serilon began its partnership with Golfleet by presenting an in-depth look at the Golfleet Driver. This initial presentation was crucial in establishing the foundations of mutual understanding.
Success in implementing a system does not occur in a single interaction. Thainá emphasizes the importance of weekly meetings and constant contact.
“With Serilon, we go beyond the initial presentation. We held weekly meetings and maintained constant contact to understand Pedro's specific needs and ensure continued success in using the app."
During the meetings, the Serilon team not only shared valuable tips to ensure a successful implementation, but the Golfleet team also gathered essential feedback from Pedro.
This customer-centric approach allowed for continuous adjustments, with Thainá highlighting: “His feedback was crucial in improving the Golfleet Driver experience, and we shared it directly with the developers to ensure constant improvements.”
“With continuous work and weekly contact, we established a relationship of trust with Pedro. This not only facilitated the implementation of the app, but also allowed Pedro to build a solid relationship with his drivers”, he highlights.
Success was not only measured by implementation effectiveness, but by the transformation in the perception of drivers.
Thainá observes: “Drivers started to see the app as a valuable tool. Not just as a monitoring measure, but as an opportunity to be an active part of management, contributing to improving driving and traffic safety.”
In a short time, the implementation of Golfleet Driver is managing to change the management of Pedro and the entire Serilon. And I'm sure you'll be able to change yours too. And it will be incredible to be able to help you all in this new phase”, concludes Thainá.
