10 tips for actions to take in your company
In fleet management, we already know that to achieve safe traffic, all individuals must cooperate, both inside and outside the company.
Hence, National Traffic Week opens the space to educate and raise awareness among professionals regarding good driving practices. With just one measure, you educate your employees, increase safety, prevent accidents and generate a positive impact on society.
September is by far the month with the most traffic-related dates, so take advantage of this opportunity to develop actions with drivers and organize lectures at your company.
1. Encourage education
Education is the foundation for any significant behavioral change, and traffic is no different. Therefore, your company can take an active role in raising awareness among its employees about best practices in traffic, training more responsible drivers and pedestrians.
On September 23rd, we celebrate the anniversary of the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB), so take advantage of this date to reinforce its importance and the main rules that everyone should know. A good idea is to promote a quiz to test the team's knowledge, with prizes for those who do best.
2. Internal training
Another option is to hold lectures or workshops with road safety experts. Topics such as defensive driving, mandatory use of seat belts, respect for speed limits and accident prevention can be addressed in a practical and interactive way.
These trainings not only educate, but also engage employees, reinforcing the importance of safe driving behavior. Trained drivers avoid accidents, infractions, claims and, at the very least, stress.
3. Traffic awareness campaigns
Do you know the company's internal communication channels? Take the opportunity to address the issue there, sending emails with safety tips, creating bulletin boards with educational messages and using social media to expand the discussion.
All these actions help to keep the topic in the spotlight and reinforce the importance of National Traffic Week, one of our initiatives for this was the Movement Connects in Traffic.
A suggestion for National Truck Driver's Day (September 16) is to promote lectures on traffic psychology and physical and mental health care, which is essential for those who spend long hours behind the wheel.

If possible, create a carpooling program within the company, encouraging employees to share their daily commutes, and encourage the use of bicycles and other means of transportation.

Traffic authorities and other local entities already promote traffic awareness campaigns, so consider the possibility of getting involved in these initiatives as a company and supporting an educational blitz, for example.

Also consider having your employees participate in community events related to National Traffic Week. This is a way to reinforce the company’s commitment to safety and demonstrate its social responsability.
Keep an eye on initiatives promoted by authorities in your city, following official websites, social networks and press outlets to obtain information about the schedule.
7. Taking the conversation further
Be sure to share these initiatives on social media and other company media outlets, so you can inspire other companies to follow the same path. forming the mobilization network that National Traffic Week promotes.
8. Focus on mobility
At the same time as the campaign takes place, the Ministry of Cities promotes National Mobility Week, an annual event that celebrates World Car Free Day, on September 22.
The aim is to encourage reflection on ways of getting around cities, involving issues such as diversity, accessibility, sustainability, innovation and safety, always with a focus on the citizen.
Challenge your employees to leave their cars at home and opt for alternative means of transportation, such as cycling, public transportation or walking. That's what we're going to do here at Golfleet to participate in World Car Free Day.

Another alternative is to carry out dynamics that reproduce risky traffic scenarios, such as emergency braking, allowing employees to practice safe reactions. This helps prepare drivers for unforeseen situations, increasing safety in everyday life.

National Traffic Day marks the height of National Traffic Week and is a special date to reflect on each person's role in creating safer traffic.
